The attorney for the estranged husband says a judge's decision to award temporary custody of the five children of missing Fairfield County mom Jennifer Farber Dulos to her mother Gloria Farber a "travesty of justice."
"Fotis misses his children deeply," Attorney Norm Patitis said in a statement to Daily Voice. "The irresponsible manner in which the state has proceeded against him is costing his children the chance for a real relationship with a man who loves them deeply. This is a travesty of justice. We are evaluating his appellate options.”
Immediately after her disappearance, the children, all under 13, including two sets of twins, have stayed with Farber in her two-bedroom 1,500-square-foot apartment in Manhattan. The nanny is also staying with the children, as well as a guard.
Fotis Dulos, 51, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis were arrested in June on charges of evidence tampering and hindering prosecution after allegedly being caught on video surveillance dumping items into more than 30 garbage cans and dumpsters that contained items with Jennifer Dulos' blood on them.
The judge, Donna Heller, stated during court that she had taken all of the circumstances into account in making her decision, including Fotis Dulos taking the 5th Amendment when Farber’s attorney pointed out that Fotis Dudlos may have been involved in his wife's disappearance.
She also pointed out that the grandmother had "acted as a parent to the children since the plaintiff disappeared on May 24, 2019."
Meanwhile, Fotis Dulos returns to court for his criminal charges on August 2. He has also asked the court to allow his court-ordered GPS monitor to be moved from his leg to his arm because it irritates his leg.
New Canaan Police asks that anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Jennifer Dulos to call 203-594-3544.
